Characteristics of some plastic materials:

 

  • Lexan® (Polycarbonate) - Shatterproof with great durability. The material of choice for everything from machine guards to hockey face masks. It comes in clear and bronze colors.

  •  PVC (Poly Vinyl Chloride) - easy to machine with a high degree of chemical resistance. PVC foam board is often used for signs.

  • Plexiglas® (Acrylic) - a very workable material, comes in a variety of colors (neon). Good for store displays as it can possess eye catching color.

  • Kydex® or ABS (Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene) - A thermal plastic that heat forms easily.

  • High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) - A great choice for signage.
